About Etelman Observatory

In 2015, the University of the Virgin Islands received five-year, $2.7 million grant from the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA). The grant is part of NASA’s Minority University Research and Education Program (MUREP). The grant is designed to expand aerospace research and development, increase participation by faculty and students at minority serving institutions, and ensure that underrepresented and underserved students participate in NASA education and research projects to assist their pursuit of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.
